This! So much this! Whoever wrote this got it 100 percent right. You can't expect to attract talent when all you can offer is a measly 2 percent merit increase - if that much! Sometimes I wonder if our leadership is really this stupid or is it that they simply don't give a damn.

I too increased my pay 30% by leaving. MDT has low compensation compared to competitors. Don’t stay too long with one company.
Congrats to the guy that gets exceeds and 7%. Just tells me you accepted the lowest salary to start that they could even offer. Congrats again.
IMHO the dead wood folks don't care its just a paycheck until they can retire. The young new hires are loving a 60-70k salary. Take the paycheck an enjoy life while your still employed.

I got a 30% raise by leaving Medtronic ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I think you people should stop complaining and show your worth to your managers. I got a 7% and have gotten Exceeds all throughout my four years in Medtronic
Don't be loyal to Medtronic or any big company. Always be on the look out for better opportunities. Do you think our leaders are loyal to us? They will jump ship the first opportunity for better pay.
It's like I wrote this myself. Something straight of the office or office space lol
They don't care. I got agreement from management that I'm underpaid by more than 15% during my annual review. They said no adjustments can be made. I 'm starting to interview prep during work hours. I feel bad for leaving my team, but sometimes you got to move on.
They don’t give a damn. A new R&D facility is being built in India so why give high performing engineers more than 2%?
