FORD MOTOR IS RECALLING 979,797 VEHICLES - NHTSA
All these recalls are just to fool the government
In reality nothing is done except a notice
In many cases there are just recalls for a recall.
Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2018-2023 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs equipped with third-row seating, as well as 2019-2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 SuperCab and three-passenger front bench seat regular cab trucks over missing head restraint instructions.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the owner’s manual does not include instructions for adjusting or removing certain head restraints. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 202, “Head Restraints.”
The hazards: without these instructions, the head restraints may be improperly adjusted, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.
Components: head restraint instructions
Affected vehicles: select 2018-2023 Ford Expedition models produced between March 14th, 2017 and May 14th, 2023, Lincoln Navigator SUVs built between March 16th, 2017 and May 14th, 2023, and 2018-2023 Ford Super Duty trucks produced from March 6th, 2018 to May 25th, 2023.
Number of vehicles affected: 979,797
The fix: Ford will mail the Owner’s Manual addendums that describe how to adjust and remove the head restraints for the center seating positions, free of charge.
Miss the small stuff, miss the big stuff.
Embarrassing reason for a recall. Of course, no one ever accountable.
Cost save for printing less words?
