Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

So let me get this straight, nobody on my team lives in the same city

We're spread out in San Francisco, Denver, Austin, Dallas, Phoenix, Orlando, Omaha, new Jersey and Chicago

So we all have to come back to the office and have "in person collaboration", only to continue to work remotely from each other (alone in cubicles) and join the same Team meetings we've been joining since 2020?

How much sense does this make? If in person collaboration is so important, why not force every executive and director to move to the same location? Oh yea, they're different.

This move just proves how disconnected Schwab senior leadership really are. Especially the executive council. boomers who are past their prime with no vision. Most teams aren't in the same location and it's gotten more spread out since the TDA acquisition.

This is insane

Are you on my team? haha! Any of my close colleagues could have written this (including myself) and it would be 100% accurate.

Because this isn’t the real reason. They have hired smart folks who can put two and two together, they must know we can see through this. It shows a lack of integrity that I’ve not seen before at Schwab which is disappointing. I would rather they said, “We thought we could hold out against industry trends but given the financial pressures we are under we had to cave,”.
