Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Anyone else concerned with security?

With the recent announcement today of “generally all employees will be in the office 3 days a week” and “MDs and PLs 4 days a week”, I have serious concerns over employee safety and security within the buildings. We do not have metal detectors, and it would be far too accessible for a crazed employee to try something. Covid has left many people unhinged and just strung out from all of the stress we’ve all been under. Packed cubicles in floor after floor makes me very nervous. This is a feeling I have not had at all while WFH, since I know I’m safe in my home. If it’s just me, I’ll seek counseling to help cope. But this is a real concern, while having always existed, is more amplified now by forced RTO and serious stress induced by unprecedented current events (societal, political, economic, etc). I do hope Corporate addresses this concern, to keep all employees safe.

The risk of workplace violence increases when employees experience unhappiness, feel cornered, face layoff threats, deal with a struggling economy, lack access to daycare, and endure various financial and emotional pressures while working in a toxic office instead of remotely from home. Employers need to be aware of these factors and quickly incorporate workplace violence training and protections to mitigate the potential risks of workplace shootings and provide a safe work environment.

I can tell you the company IS concerned with security....but wait, not for employees, for the EC of course. They're currently scrambling beef up security presence for them over the coming weeks.

Unhinged? They have been working from home? Look as employees for Schwab you had to know commerce is necessary in order for Merica to function. WFH doesn't work for the $ financial bottom line. I am bummed and I enjoy what I do and just like with COVID I will adapt to yet another "New Normal". Prayers out to everyone!
