Is there any truth to rumors about July layoffs? I've been hearing more about it lately, so it'd be nice to get a confirmation either way.

Busy af at our shop, its running like sh-t though because quality and validation have taken a backseat to schedule. The reduced development lifecycle is destroying the company but they wont know it for a few years. All virtual by 2025 is a joke designed to destroy the company.
I've been hearing about a Mothman that is beamed down by flying saucers. The Mothman eats small pets and peeps through windows. Is there any truth to this?
So is it really a rumor going around, or is this just a troll?

"Is anyone else hearing about layoffs besides OP?"
Sounds like crickets in here. Or maybe tinnitus?
I think some people create drama where there is none.

If they lay people off before Christmas they won't have to pay them for the Christmas shutdown
"SLT said no layoffs due to the VSP."
They have never lied before, so there you go!
The departments that didn't have the VSP numbers they were looking for will be obvious targets for the next wave. Historically, that happens at Christmas time, not after shutdown. If sales soften, you can count on it!
If they backfill for people who leave/retire/get fired, they won't save any money.
I seriously doubt there would be any layoffs in Engineering/Design. Big vacuum from retirements and so far no replacements.
Not sure about other businesses functions.
Aren't the final VSP people leaving at the end of June?
Maybe they want to see how things are going for a couple of weeks after.

I haven't heard anything.
