Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

HyVee has cut their labor so deep

That it is really affecting the stores on everything. If HyVee was running an NFL franchise and was looking to cut labor. They would only have 11 players playing both sides of the ball with no bench help. They are asking store to run labor that tight. They still expect to win but we all know you can’t win games with only 11 players on the rooster because you want to cut cost.

An excellent metaphor that perfectly explains what's happening at HyVee. Bumped from @2dsw+1mKt57s5.

Man, I feel for you guys. I used to believe the lie, and thank God I left after Covid eased up. I still do labor, but not for retail anymore. I hate to say it, but most businesses are like this, with different degrees of bullsh-t and glory to go around. The problem is this, the jobs you want us to do deserve more pay, and since we as a country basically sat on our hands regarding minimum wage hikes, now the gap is even bigger, and no retail job is going to pay you that well for the massive amounts of customer and employer bullsh-t we endure under this system. It is a systemic problem, but hyvee specifically has been allergic to good corporate management he who shall not be named took over and Rick left.

And HyVee doesn’t know how to operate in todays business world so maybe you should stfu. When HyVee was financially on ropes back in 2018 and the big layoffs in 2019. That’s was during the best economy this world has ever seen and they were still failing. Now the economy is bad and HyVee won’t know how to operate in a bad economy. HyVee leadership was saved by Covid but those days are over. Now they are blaming the store about poor results.

You would have no idea how to run an NFL franchise. Just STFU.

HyVee doesn’t need labor. They need the store to turn a profit. Don't worry about the warehouse price gouging the stores for product.

Well, when your upper managers are awol on the floor and your work area is right next to their office...A major reason why I left that sh-t show was very little accountability and lack of work ethic by those in charge. Too many cheifs doing too little work. HyVee now cuts labor, those front facing employees doing the grunt work, and leaves those in charge with hefty paychecks. Glad I'm out!

If you were so busy, how'd you have time to spy and eavesdrop on people? Just wondering.

Lol. When I worked for this sorry excuse for a company, I observed the
children (Upper Management) holed up in their playpen (office) chatting and carrying on for hours on end while us adults (Dept Managers and floor personnel) worked our as--s off trying to keep the placed stocked and the customers happy.
