Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Voluntary layoffs

I was scared of layoffs, but that's no longer true. If they gave us a chance at voluntary layoffs, I'd be the first one to raise my hand. I'd even go the extra mile and train my replacements on my way out if need be. WD is no longer the place I joined over a decade ago, so fighting to stay here seems pointless.

My skip was the guy responsible for the security for the products that were hacked.
He was not a good manager and now it turns he was not good at security either.

Today I found out there was another coworker decided to quit. That was the 3rd one I know of to leave after the security incident.

It is not the same place at all. I have been here over two decades and have watched a once great place be mismanaged. Sone of this is market conditions but a good portion is self inflicted. Take charge of your own life as the reaper may come for you yet.

While double dipping it's nice, it may not worth the risk. If you have something lined up already, just quit
