Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

So many leaving

I'm curious, why do you think so many people are leaving? It's been a bit puzzling for me because, despite the challenging circumstances, we've been doing fairly well. But over the past couple of months, I've noticed quite a few people I know quitting their jobs. It makes me wonder if they might have some information that I'm not aware of. I mean, why would they leave EM, a relatively stable company, especially when the economy is going through such turmoil?

Plenty of jobs available.

Reach out to any O&G staffing company like many others have done.

Don’t waste your one life compromising the most important things.

There was not any chance to answer the EM boy or girl that was threating people about the jobs. Is it going to be forever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. or just forever?

  • XOM never paid top dollars, but it used to be mid front on the scale, now it is towards the bottom.
  • Constant cost cutting, and distribute the slack.
  • Promotion of brown noser than real leaders.
  • KLTC and BTC, forcing site personnel to train these ppl and then they quit.....
  • Outsourcing of technical drawings to India.........ask any of your IEA staff.
  • Dwindling benefits, that saving match cut during COVID really pi---d off a lot of ppl
  • Travel annoyance. Very annoying "out of policy" flights and hotel costing employee personal time and convience for corporate saving
  • Surveys? umm.........we like your opinion, but if you say stuff we don't like, we will ignore or make you work a solution (no, never senior management's fault)
  • Ranking....oh....where do I start
  • Expat opportunities has all but to senior management

......I can probably go on with a few more.....but why bother..

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Newbie or troll???

Stay awhile, read some of the threads and comments on this here page, and be prepared to be amazed, surprised, scared, horrified… and then (hopefully) motivated to update your resume and look for greener pastures sooner than later. ExxonMobil is not the fairytale you think it to be.

Run. Run for your life.

Short version is a lot of people have better opportunities elsewhere.

But bruh... You gotta be trolling right? Or are you just new?

People who should be moving on are moving on. Why is there a thread about this?

Because exxon of 2020 and later is not the exxon for 2019 and earlier. I left a few years ago on my own accord and found a better job with more pay and better work/life balance. Sure, there's no pension, but I'd rather spend most of my working life happier and where my skills are valued and embraced without training a 4th party overseas to take my job while wondering the plant will burn or blow up again.

Because others can get anywhere between 15-30% pay raise and better work life balance when leaving to work for someone else that cares about ppl.

Cause XOM is a terrible company that doesn’t care about its employees. Simple.

Dude take some time reading through this Layoff posts. It doesn't take much reading to understand why people leave.

Even those who left month ago come back here to encourage others to leave.

It's pretty evident from these posts that life is so much better after EM.

Are you serious? I mean, is this a joke?

Are you a new 2023 hire? Have you been around EM the previous decade, particularly in 2020-2022???????

Are you blind? Don't you see what's going on around you????

  1. the "relative stability" is a thing of the past. Wait until the next oil bust.
  1. even if it was stable, what kind of 1di0t cares about stability if your bosses are hateful poisonous snakes capable of backstabbing you in a heartbeat ????
  1. the economy is not in turmoil, this is a story you are telling to yourself to justify your mediocrity. There are plenty of opportunities out there and those who are capable seize them.

Wake up!!!!
