Thread regarding Morgan Stanley layoffs

In my 10 years experience at MS, I have never seen a conference call by a senior MD after a layoff event. An ED may give a pep talk to his/her group.

I agree this is more to be a fake news! Everytime a layoff happens, usually the same day or the next we would have a conference call with a senior MD. No call yet!

What is DC?

Fake news! MS usually shuts down access to the DC during and after layoffs. Nothing happened. I literally came out of the DC right now

E-Trade FTEs are affected. It is unbelievable that MS does not have any controls or mechanism over E-Trade tech teams. As usual the E-Trade EDs dumped their smart people under the bus and retained their loyal non-performers (whose contribution is negligible).

Anyone from Etrade got impacted ?

It's happening now.
One of the managers on my floor let go someone last week.
This morning he was let go.

Layoff is happening? or happened? or will be next week? If someone has valid information please share.

Any clarity on which divisions are impacted? It’s been hinted it’s across the board affecting all divisions.

Names have been decided.
HR is calculating severance package for each of them...

New York and London, a few in HK.
Some managing directors of supporting department will be impacted, especially those between 2-3 layers of senior managing directors and 1-2 layers junior managing directors.
They are useless parasites.
Their job is to waste people's time to learn what others have been working on so they can take credits. Morgan Stanley has thousands of such managing directors and executive directors. But many of them have relationships.

Support staff will feel pain too
