I don't get people who are upset over the early announcement of layoffs. The company just gave all of us time to get our ducks in a row, prepare our resumes, set up a plan in case we're laid off... There are so many things to do when you know something like this is coming and you might be affected. I'll take an early announcement over them pulling the rug from under my feet when I least expect it, thank you very much.

This was the most callous RIF move I can ever recall seeing. I’ve seen companies say you’ll get a call on X date, and then you’ll get a month to prepare, then get a nice package. This one is nothing more than white knuckling for 10 days only to find out you may only have 1 more day of employment. Everybody’s a candidate, and they aren’t saying a word.
I’ve taken the week to prepare and also have several interviews lined up. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t complain about how this was handled. And, I have a feeling this won’t be anywhere near the last time, for those that do stick around.
As a former Sabre VP and current C-Suite at a growth stage company, this is a terrible strategy that is worse for the employees and displays how out of touch the current leadership is. I don't keep up with Sabre anymore, so I have no clue who the executive Team is but this just reminds me of all of the reasons I left.

Ageism, racism, s-xism. People with current health issues. People dealing with a spouse or child with health issues.
People who live check to check.
This week or two is so very stressful to people who have reasons to worry. It’s very stressful to those who don’t have reasons to worry.
Better to rip off the Bandaid Ethan torture someone saying it’s going to hurt so bad and you’ll do it in a week or two… but it will be awful.
So d-mb. YOU are lucky if you only need a week or so to get your ‘ducks in a row’.

I appreciate the early warning for the reasons you've given, but it is way more stressful than I'd expected.
