Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Salary difference if moving within the company?

If you change roles within the company ( not promotion) do you get a new offer? Lets say within the same org just different role. Not expecting anything just wanted to know that's all.

Years ago, I made a lateral move from Houston to Bakersfield and received a “cost of living” increase. Not very much, more of a good faith gesture I guess.

If you’re currently in a “support” function and can move to a role in operations your immediate increase may not be significant but your future earning ability will likely be much better.

You run the risk of getting a more bigoted environment than the one you are currently in, which may be difficult to believe at Oxy.

99% no for a lateral move.

Only salary bump I received for a lateral move was for international assignments.

it depends on what the new job is. Generally though, if the move is lateral, there isn’t an increase involved
