How is Fab 9 doing?

How is Ken McAvey and the fab 9 team doing? Burlington was a pretty old facility, what’s the future of 200 mm?

Management in Fab 9 is clueless. The morale is low and there’s talks of people leaving. The lean transformation has failed and there’s no upsides.

Burlington use to run a lot of SOI. Yields were low since the tools weren’t good at capturing any data that could be used to pinpoint problems.

Fab 9 is focused on GaN but so are many companies in the industry and GF is lagging behind. The past 3-6 months the loading has been very low. If GaN doesn't produce a lot of customers and wafer starts then this will be the end of Fab 9, GF will sell it off like they did Fab 10 in E.Fishkill NY. Let's see what the future brings but right now things are not looking very promising.
