Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Did layoffs come up today and annual meeting?

Sorry, but I consider a day full of CSPAN and CSPAN2 more entertaining that 3Ms annual shareholders meeting.

Gotta love Mikeys comment and word salad: driven by purpose, taking important action, uncertain macroeconomic environment

Purpose? You won't even tell employees you recommend buying your own stock

Action? 7 layoffs in 5 years. This is insanity definition- doing same thing over and over again expecting a different result

Uncertain? Why are 3Ms shares down 150 plus dollars or lost over half the value when most of your competitors shares are up

Did anyone watch? Were they any challenging questions? How much applause from the clapping and barking seals?

Ge-z, what happened to this company this century and why?

Best case scenario for "it takes many people decades to build a good company but you only need one person 3 years to ruine it".
3M should be written in history textbooks.

It was a web cast. They usually have a few trained clapping seals sit in the room to give the speakers a feel of an audience. Noise is piped in, yes including clapping. What they really needed was the laugh track from Gilligan's Island to show what a joke Mike and his team are.

I don't know the specifics of anything happening at 3M, but I'll offer this to answer your question of why: our gov't has fostered the growth of mega corporations at the expense of small and midsize businesses. These companies are now tasked, via Blackrock, with implementing a leftist culture on behalf of our corrupt gov't (both sides are 100% corrupt).
