Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Nothing is right at Hy-Vee anymore

Here is one question i have for hyvee board of directors. How many employees of 15 years of service have left hyvee over last 2 years. The first 13 years of 17 years at hyvee i hyvee was good employeer. Took care of customers and hard work was rewarded with promotions. My first trip to corp was randy sink ship speech or whatever it was. Basically all poeple in room were stupid and he was only smart one it. When i left i called corp hr asked to do exit interviews. Answer no. This shows how little hyvee cares about employees or why they leave. Hyvee will never hire outside person from outside company into dm level management. Big mistake. They need new fresh ideas. Need buddy club system of promotions broke up. I dont shop hyvee anymore. Hyvee turn over cost are soaring= lost sales= more wasted labor training expense= lost knowledge to help customers with buying decisions at a profit not lost leaders at negative margins. All this will catch. Plus a burn out work force. How much blood can you squeze out of beet. Hyvee profits soared 2020, 2021. Real trouble coming. Negative food inflation is coming. Trust me hyvee wont reduce prices as prices lower. Competition will. All more reason to shop elsewhere add understaffed store and terrible cleaniness to list. Just walk a local hyvee fresh vega rack. Trust me you find mold growing on the shelves. Was never allowed 5 years ago. Good luck to all at hyvee. I left before the big collaspe

Bumping @5lhv+1m2tTP3X for being on point.

Management needs sensitivity training, workers arnt getting proper training or reviews when asked . Asking for help instead of figuring things out yourself is apparently frowned upon, being questioned on how you order instead of being given the tools to do the job is a struggle. overall being set up to fail and initially feeling like your going to be fired if you speak your mind is all issues this company needs to address .sales arnt the only thing this company needs to be worrying about. you can't run a company if you don't have workers who are willing to do the job. if you belittle them bully them to a breaking point speaking for all burntout workers . Wish things would get better but don't have high Hope's.

Well there is your reason why HyVee wasn’t profitable this last quarter. You have one employee not clocking out for break. That guys alone almost bankrupt the company. Glad we caught him and now we will be profitable next quarter. Lol

In response to the poster who got fired from Hyvee, someone in your store should've spoke to you about the clock in/out policy within the first month of your employment and provided consequences to violating said policy. To fire you after two years is a total failure on the part of your store director. And really, let's be honest, HyVee steals from the people who shop their stores everyday with their outrageously high marked up prices. And I guarantee you'll be better off working somewhere else than slaving for that pirate ship of a company! Good luck!!

Time theft is time theft. Hy-Vee set the precedent long ago that that is an immediately fireable offense. There's no appeal for you to do other than with your unemployment office and your state, however that is a battle that you have a very small chance of winning.

Hyvee fired me a few weeks ago for not clocking out for breaks! After two years! THEY NEVER HELD ANYONE ACCOUNTABLE FOR BEING LATE, LEAVING EARLY, CLOCKING IN OR OUT. MY GM SAT IN THE OFFICE AND WATCHED THE CAMERAS ALL DAY. AFTER TWO YEARS OF LEAVING FOR LUNCH EVERYDAY THEY FIRE ME FOR NOT CLOCKING OUT? I FILED UNEMPLOYEMENT. NOW IM DISQUALIFIED FOR TIME CLOCK THEFT??? What the fu-k. Sometimes I could not even take a pi-s yet go on my break. I was a service manager. I was that poor guy running the entire front end with no one on self checkout, one cashier maybe two, approving all of the alcohol, deleting items for cashiers or having a price fit because scanning sucks or some other bullsh-t! I forgot to clock out for break hundreds of times and no one ever said anything. I have not one write up or record of discussion and it took my manager almost two years to figure this out. Its bullsh-t and now I dont know how to file an appeal my employment. Please help. I have kids. Thank you for reading.

HyVee corporate is rude af to the stores. They speak to store employees like they are slaves. The days of treating employees as family is over. No one like to be yelled and torn down every day. Do better HyVee and treat the employees right and they will go the extra mile at the stores for you. It’s truly a relationship. HyVee will ended up like Kmart because of poor leadership. HyVee can demand their employees to work a certain way. What HyVee can’t do is demand their customers to buy over price groceries with poor service. That is the path HyVee has taken with customers. Guess what? Customers have noticed poor service and over price. Now how do you win those lost customers back?

The corporate culture is to talk down to the stores. Starts at Randy… continues with Georgia….she btw is very rude

As soon as Randy leaves I'll start caring again. He treated me like dirt once despite my working my a$$ off. That was the day I stopped caring about Hy-Vee.

The better question when will Jeremy Gosch tell Randy that his entire time as the CEO has been a big failure. Jeremy needs to tell Randy that he isn’t needed anymore. The farther they get away from him the better Jeremy will do leading the company. Why would you ask any advice from the previous failed CEO. You can’t right the ship with him around.

When is Randy done?

The beginning of the end started when Randy took over. History will reflect that fact. The number one asset a company can have is employees. Randy and his goons have looked at employees as liabilities for the last ten years. They blame profit loss because employee's and don’t value what they do. They are at the point where they are cutting labor cost by so much. That customers have noticed the service they used to get is gone. Customers are tired of paying the high price to shop at HyVee to just have an okay experience. HyVee wonders why their customer count is down so far. It because they are tired of HyVee sh-t service. Until HyVee top leaders realize they are failing not the stores HyVee will just keep getting closer to being bankrupt. The best thing Jeremy could do is to look at how randy has failed and to learn from his mistakes. If Jeremy thinks following randy management style is the right thing to do HyVee will fail.
