Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Low Value Employees Are Next

Do you say "no" when your boss asks you for a favor?

Have you had poor interpersonal relationships with your colleagues?
Do you do less work than your colleagues? Are you disengaged?

Are you combative when issues arise and do you fail to take ownership of them?

Are you sight-unseen? Unreliable? Do you make excuses?

Are you the last person your boss thinks of when there's an important project that needs new team members? Do colleagues not accept your linkedin invitations?

Does any of this sound like you? If so, the fact that you were delusional enough to think that others will be "next" without thinking about what little value you are to the corporation should tell you that YOU are next.

If only they would remove low value leadership.

Have you been given little direction or vague assignments?
Are you not sure what is needed to help deliver to your groups objectives?
Do your assignments not seem to match the LL5's objectives?
Does everything seem like a struggle involving different LL6s doing their best politics to avoid taking ownership of a task?
Have you been asked to train teams in India, Mexico, or Brazil on your area of expertise?
Are you constantly fighting issues with the product under your responsibility due to poor systems engineering and a lack of understanding the application complexity?

People will be put on PEPs. Then they will have a buyout. We are followers, so we will follow the GM model. Unlike GM, I don’t think we will get enough volunteers and layoffs will occur.

It would be awesome if they gave n+3 just like we r in China. I could get down with that.

I posted this thread on the General Motors thread a while back. Apparently, some troll (the OP) copy/pasted it here on the Ford thread.
Even though in this case, I think the warning applies to everyone, be weary of trolls trying to demoralize you. It's pretty sad. We should be helping each other and not trying to pull anyone down.
I don't want any of my brothers and sisters from the big 3 getting laid off!
Don't attack each other here and especially at work. If you see someone struggling, help them!

Op can you describe favor? Does it have anything to do with bending over? Someone may call the harassment hotline on you!!!!

Unfortunately for the OP, "important project" in a corporation actually means "busy work".

The state of Michigan is going to need to reform and rebuild its welfare program to support all the people that are going to be let go by Ford and other corporations. There are a lot of children that are going to need support until their parents can get back on their feet.

I'm all of those things, but I'm also a member of the friends and family plan. So you OP. Will be long gone before I will be!

When your employer is firing thousands of people at a time and getting rid of entire departments it doesn't matter how good your attitude is.

The best part of work at home is not having to sit next to OP.

Sounds like prime candidates for promotion. Folks who shut their mouth, do their jobs and produce don't get any recognition. You have to be part of the friends and family club, show a few reds and yellows, and magically change those to green. If you always remain green it is considered as sign that you have an easy job, not that you are a good employee.

The company does not reward or recognize steady employees, it actually forces them out because they tend to be on the higher side of the pay scale.

You just described most LL6s and LL5s before they got promoted. In other words....the friends and family.

These types get rewarded, not let go. Duh.
