Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

**US ENPLOYEES** COMPANY IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO PROVIDE AT LEAST 60 DAYS NOTICE

If your job loss is part of a mass layoff, the company is required by federal law to provide at least 60 days notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. Employees are entitled to full pay during the notification period

I believe the ‘warn’ letter according to ISpolicy is poly if you are laying off 30% or more in a single location. So it would not apply

Does standard US Sabre layoff policy pay out unused vacation or is that "use it or lose it"?

Standard Sabre severance policy in the U.S. has been 1 week per year of service for Senior and below; 2 weeks per year of service for Principal/Sr. Principal; and more for Director+.

Read the PL regulations. If reason of termination is on the employer side (there is a bunch of examples, but current situation fits perfectly) you are eligible to get severance (1mo salary if working <2y, 2mo salary if 2-8y, and 3m salary if more). Plus notice period stated in your contract.

And if they fire more than 30ppl in period of 30 days, it is considered group layoffs in which case and you are also eligible to get severance. It's not my first rodeo here in Sabre m8 ;)

In PL company is not obliged to pay severance. this is up to the enterprise. They obliged to pay the notice period , 3 months, plus earned vacations. 3 months is the notice period from both parties. I assume you are foreigner in Poland and not familiar with the law.

Then they'll pay two months and be done with it.

In PL with around 10 years in Sabre I have 3 full calendar months notice period + at least 3 months severance. So if they decide to fire me tomorrow, they won't really save much money this year, cause they'll have to pay me next 7 months salary. And this is the case with individual layoffs, with company wide action it might be more.
