FYI, in August, LL5s (that weren't being laid off) signing NDAs and being told what the plan was precipitated the SIRPs. The LL5s being brought into the know means that they new layoffs are imminent!

Good luck to us all. Just checked LinkedIn, it isn't pretty out there. Hopefully, many of you have saved up 6-12 months of living expenses. If not I feel for you....

End of June syncs up with a lot of other information on this thread including people being hired on contracts until the end of June and LL5s and above being asked to sign NDAs. Some relatives work on stuff for GM and their work has slowed down a lot recently. We’re starting to tumble into a recession. Good luck everyone.

Dearborn cuts are planned for the week of June 26th.

Get your affairs in order. 401k paperwork. Cobra. Phone numbers. Stop using your work laptop for personal matters. Get that info off your machines today.

Take some notes on your job responsibilities from similar internal postings. Update your resume. Highlight your success stories on your resume. Leave behind your Ford stories of garbage accomplishments. Don't worry about your performance reviews or your awards. No supplier cares, they don't, and they will see through the Ford speak bullsh-t. It doesn't help your application. You need to interview well and explain your accomplishments in person. They don't care about your participation trophies, they want to know how you worked as a team to help solved issues and they want you to explain.

Oh, and as a LL5, my feedback to Dougie and Jimmy Boy, f$%k your NDA.

Years ago, I was talking to an Indian female in NA. She was complaining that she was working as Help Desk, even when she came from India with a Red Hat Linux certification. For all of you that don't know what that certification means, let's say it is very hard to achieve (in the US) and used to require a good level of practice and theory. The way she talked, she felt sidelined for being an Indian woman.

I kinda felt sorry for her at the time. However, several days later she asked me a very basic technical question. She really didn't know the answer to that, and had some trouble understanding the concepts involved. I am convinced to this day, that she paid off someone to get the certification in India. There is no way she could pass the RHL testing without knowing the basics.

Since then, I stopped believing in the "made in India" certifications. I have worked with many Indian IT people in my life, and I get along with many H1Bs here, that know their stuff. Most of those here that are actually good, have continued their studies and are proudly showing "made in USA" certifications.

Some jobs are exclusively for US citizens. Ford doesn't even sponsor H1 for jobs in some departments. Everyone are here for the American dream. Survival of the fittest. If not for the lazy W as..s why should ford hire people on H1B. While they lift all the work load..the W are busy doing ppt and spreadsheet engineering.

India is an unstable labor market. I heard recently that the entire staff supporting AutoCAD quit en mass, leaving the company with two employees supporting the app in FNA. The issue the Chennai team had was it was too much work supporting the app. I had a similar experience when management handed my project to the team in Chennai after they said they could create and support the scripts for less. Three months later they came back and told my manager it was too much effort to maintain. Waste of time and money.

Meanwhile there is a massive jump in H1B applications and fraud is suspected (mock surprise)

https://www.theregister.com/2023/05/04/register_kettle_h1b_visa/?td=rt-3a

What incentive is there for young American citizens to get good at engineering if they will be laid off by at 45 so that the employer can hire a 25 year old at indenture style wages?
And why would any of them want to work for an employer who plays these games?

The H1B program has degenerated into a boondoggle for a handful of Indian contracting companies. The H1Bs displace US workers en masse and suppress wages. The requirements for academic qualification and labor certification are all but non-existent, and often falsified. This robs both companies and employees of useful help.
The system also disadvantages those who truly are qualified. It also ruins the reputations of the qualified - guilt by association. If 85% of those coming thru are unqualified, the experience in general that people will have with the demographic is suboptimal.

The July dates make sense. Ford temporarily hired back recent retires to help train their replacements and/or finish up work on programs. 6 Month ONLY. They are not under any circumstance going to extend those beyond end of June. OGC does not want any lawsuits by extending the re-hired retirees past June. This means layoffs in July. They don’t want to layoff current employees and keep the re-hired retires because it opens up the door for lawsuits. Buckle up!

There's literally one big gap in the Ford chart back to $5. It's not speculation, it's there for the world to see plain as day. The only thing you have to understand, is when will it occur.

Now that's said, there are many gaps all across many stocks, leading back to March 2020 lows. You don't have to like it, most people don't understand this, and most people will never notice it. But, your 401ks will experience it. Just because we hope something happens, does not make it so. I don't hope, I only follow the data.

The actual gap is as low as $4.36 dating May 15th, 2020. So, to those that hold Ford stock, how does that make you feel? Since it's decline from $25, down to now $11 and change, did you see that one either?

FYI,
I don’t think the gap to 5 is accurate considering all the recent calls for hold and added speculation to sell. Most brokers are leveraging yield buys to watch the future gains in the next few weeks. Further, many analysts are dividing the short sales of dividends to potential buyers around 10,55 per share.

Timing sounds about right for a nice move in the markets. Up or down, I'll leave that to you. I know how I'm going to play it.

FYI, Ford still has a gap to fill in it's stock price back down to March 2020 lows of $5. Five dollar make ya holla. You don't have to like it, but you might want to learn how to chart read and apply TA. All gaps eventually get filled.

I'm a Ford buyer sub $5. With that said, how well do you think Ford is going to perceived to do going forward? It's not the $1 from Fords last fail, but $5 is still pretty tempting.

None of us are safe!

It's all I think about! All day every day!

I can't even get any work done. It has absolutely destroyed my productivity.

We will all be laid off. Ford is going to outsource everything except vice presidents and above.

Some of those moved could be in the layoff as well as some of those left behind, They just have to see who is going to work.
