Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Hard to fathom GM and Stellantis doing voluntaries and Ford not following suit.

Because we're such a data company we don't follow lock-step with GM, et al. anymore - Now Ford must match the hire/fire cadence of Google, etc. You're either a leader or a follower, right ? Once again, this will not end well for many good people . . .

Last year, the interest rates and lump sum was enough incentive for many to retire. Additional voluntary packages were not necessary. Although interest rates continue to go up and there will be a further reduction in lump sum payout next year, the retirement eligible people that remain have either decided to take a monthly check, or stay around longer term. I would not expect many voluntary retirements this year unless packages were offered.
