Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Do NOT sign MAA

DO NOT SIGN the MAA document, this is very unlikely legally enforceable, and a scare tactic if you are already employed. If you have 401K money managed by Xerox (via Voya), pension due, or the possibility of any legal (or medical) claim this is a foolish decision to sign agreeing to arbitration. You are giving up your rights limiting your options, with lack of a legal discovery process, limited appeals, lack of any judicial (or public) oversight, potential bias and a total lack of legal transparency. DO NOT SIGN. They can't fire everyone - this is an empty threat. DO NOT SIGN. This goes against your Constitutional and legal rights as an American. You do NOT want to waive your legal rights to join a class action, or explore your legal options outside of an arbitration setting. DO NOT SIGN.

I had an attorney friend look over the MAA language. He said it looked like something to cover a previous issue (forcing everyone to get vaxxed perhaps?) or something in the future. Without knowing the actual reason there's no way to know for sure.

He said it could likely be to cover for the vaccine requirement that was forced on everyone. There have been some lawsuits by employees of other companies about post-vax issues that have come up, but no way of knowing if that's the actual reason the MAA was put into place.

And no, it wasn't a Saul Goodman type attorney. He works at Skadden, and bills hundreds of $ an hour.

In most right-to-work states that I'm aware of, refusing to sign does not automatically mean the employee is fired. It's up to the employer whether to let them stay employed or not. But even if not signed, the arbitration agreement is still in effect.

I predict 98% compliance, and the 2% who don’t WILL NOT be fired.

I’m praying it’s a tech from the mid west that doesn’t sign and then gets $hitcanned. You guys are insufferable. We’ll just hire robots.

Not signing accomplishes nothing. The default is acceptance. Yo avoid being bound by the agreement, you have to resign.

F'em. I'm not signing.

Let them fire me, and then I'll be posting here with information for anyone else impacted to join a class action lawsuit.
