What customers? I haven’t met a customer in years. That isn’t a good thing.

Certainly living on this planet and in touch with our customers. I'm pretty sure you've had no interaction with our customers :)

This merge would probably have a better chance of succeeding if it was a reverse acquisition since we don’t have the same track record and serial violations that Broadcom has. And we won’t have any issues divesting whatever they ask as remedies.

"Our customers really love us."

What planet are you living on? This might be the most absurd claim I've seen in months.

Actually, public cloud is too expensive. Everyone is now considering on-prem and colos as their first option with burst capabilities to public cloud. Public cloud is like 10x more expensive and also slower! who would have thought! Not everyone can afford this. On-prem is here to stay. If you analyze our numbers, we don't really need any growth. Just selling what we have today will be sufficient. that is the size of our business and lock-in with customers. our customers really love us... this is one thing we got right regardless of all our other deficiencies and inefficiencies.

I'd say IMHO the deal is probably not going to happen. Not in this economic environment. Not after seeing the UK's decision regarding Msoft and Blizzard. This whole deal was based on nothing more than pure greed and the financial mismanagement that resulted in the huge amount of debt Dell built up. If it does fail then good. I've been reading horror stories from the Layoff/Citrix where the former president of software at Bcom, Tom Kraus, and it sounds like he's running that company the same as Bcom runs things and the employees sound absolutely miserable and dejected. VMware employees deserve better then that.

What can Broadcom actually say to these regulators?

"We understand your concerns about anti-competitive practices, and despite Hock's long track record of regulatory violations and anti-competitive business tactics, he promises he won't do it again."

The only thing they will accept is action. Will Hock be willing to divest of other areas of his business in order to satisfy their concerns? Thats the question. He's probably thinking VMware isn't worth it. But who knows

There no growth in VMware you fool, it now lives on renewals and renewal ELAs. Customers are moving to public cloud. That means at some point VMW will have to cut costs as they’re no growth. With or without the acquisition there will be major job cuts. Companies have to be profitable. VMW is way to fat based on the numbers.

If the deal is blocked, we won't rapidly slide to irrelevance. with our current portfolio, we can make money for the next decade. we've been doing nothing anyhow for the last decade.

Current leadership is so poor that employees can't even guess at the direction and strategy. Product development is a joke.

If the deal is blocked, there's nothing left but the rapid slide to irrelevance.

All the anti-trust concerns are real. These are exactly the things Bcom will do in second 1 of ownership. I've worked for a malaysian semiconductor company before. They work in the office till 2 AM and count time in hours left. Crazy is the word for it. This Hoc dude is going to ruin VMware. Imagine 80% gone in Q1. Very real possibility given the high interest rates and expected Summer dip in the US economy. Pray that this deal does not survive.

Interest rates are very high now. The banks I'm sure are no longer interested in offering last years rates. They must have secretly agreed with Hoc to raise them. This means that the cuts will be even deeper if this goes through. Does not look like a good deal for anyone except Bcom and VMware owners.

It only takes one to say no and the deal is off. The odds don’t look very good, and TBH I wanted this deal to go through initially but I don’t know anymore.
