I saw deep cuts for Ford vehicles advertised, then I saw Ford bragging sales were up, so how much did those vehicles sell for?

@OP Sales currently strong? What have you been drinking, son? Stop drinking the Kool Aid, it poisons the mind. Let's talk numbers:

Ford sales in China down 33.5%, and it will be even worse (BYD Seagull for just $11,000, who'll pay $30,000 for the Ford Mach-e?). I don't see Europe, with all the competition and laws, being a major arena for FMC. Maybe we'll get even or a little ahead in there. In NA, our most important market, we keep losing ground: sales of any vehicle, but the F-150 are almost dead.

If you go to the Ford media webpage, we are ki-ling it with 476,000 vehicles sold in Q1'2023. What the Kool Aid won't tell you, is that not long ago, we used to sell even more (519,000 sold in Q1'2021; 515,000 sold in Q1'2020; 583,000 sold in Q1'2019; and so on, you get the idea, right?).

All those percentages that we "grew" lately, are compared only against our worst year (2022), not versus our "average". If you do the math, you'll notice we are selling 9% LESS than just a couple of years ago, and almost 20% LESS than 4 years ago. Remember that then we were losing market share, so IDK what to tell you about our current "strong sales".

The high interest rate will put a damper on all auto sales. Expect to see a slow down in the 2nd half.

1fmd+1mhXYWV4 Keep drinking the KOOL AID Bobble head. Jim Farley has nothing on his record as a success since he has been at Ford. ZERO.

  1. We lost Market Share since JF was hired.
  2. We exited almost all of the car segments in NA. Toyota is making even more money.
  3. complexity and buildable combinations increased under JF. This is a man who worked at Toyota. He should have known better.

Sorry but his track record speaks for itself.

Doug Fields. All I can say his on the job time is a serious concern. never stays in a position for more than three years. I think there is one at five years. So this is what I call is a red flag.

As for Bill Ford. Sorry but what he says does not carry any weight. His only qualification (according to the WS Journal) is his last name on the side of the building.

  1. 01-06 He nearly bankrupted the company. Fired by his family in the spring of 06.
  2. The train station. What is it? Why did BF spend company funds on that? Since 2018 We have heard three different things this pit will be. Sorry luxury apartments is not one of them. That area makes Beirut look like Beverly Hills.

So you see poster. Nobody outside of Wayne County buys what BF says. Sorry.

Thanks for this post. Couldn't have said it better myself. Nice to see other positive-thinking people participating on this forum. It is needed.

Bill Ford was sincere when he stated in the history of Ford Motor Company, today's leadership team is the best ever. Go look it up if you don't believe.

Amen brah!
I've also have been trying to communicate the rebound as well but always seems to fall on deaf ears. Further, we don't want to sell bunch right off the bat but rather take the S.A.S. approach (slo and steady for those who may not know). Ideally thermal up transformation would take ~7-8 years or a couple of model cycles. The S.A.S approach will give us plenty of time to refine things and work out all the potential long term bugs etc.

Ford is rebounding. This is what we've been trying to tell you since SIRP. This is the greatest leadership tean that Mr Ford has ever seen within this company. This is just the beginning.
