Our story might end like the beginning of Hamdi Ulukaya's Anti-CEO Playbook, but unfortunately, our current CEO Martha Geofrey is not embodying the principles of effective leadership. With a lot of wrong decisions, wrong direction, and too much individuality, the company is not doing well under her leadership.
Contrary to Geofrey's approach, effective leadership can drive long-term success, as demonstrated by our former CEO Omar. He was open-minded, aware of the cultural background of Medtronic, and was able to build on our knowledge and talent. However, he failed to convince or understand our past and culture, which ultimately led to his departure.
As an employee, I really hope that our future CEO will be more like Omar. Geofrey's leadership style is not working, and it's time for a change. We need someone who can embrace our culture, collaborate with us, and drive the company forward. Unfortunately, I don't see Geofrey being able to fill that role or even find a similar position...
