From program management employee:

Supervisor overheard going into a conference room: "We will not get to pick. It's all coming from HR."
Context unknown but I have my guesses.
For what any of that is worth.

I would not believe August, get busy looking, sooner is more likely.
MODEL E is a trogen horse to take automotive manufacturing and tier 1 suppliers down.
I have alot of popcorn to eat whilst watching the sh-t show.
BTH dont axe me anymore questions undrea.
@yrv - keep drinking the Kool-aid.
I think that Model e will be safer than Ford Blue.
I used to believe that they were both viewed equally by executive leadership. And that all Blue workers would eventually shift their focus to EVs.
After last August, I saw that Blue was very much targeted (after age / pension). Moreso than Model e.
Model E folks, they are laying off in Meta, Google and Amazon. You are not magically in some protected bubble like some may think. It's all about cash conservation in the face of high interest rates and high cash burn rate in EV investments. Car sales will slow down as interest rates take effect and folks tighten up spending. If Farley wants to hit a number he will make it happen. If they can find your equivalent in a LCC you'll be shown the door.
If you sit in the USA, you can be let go. The organization won't necessarily downsize, they will just shed US workload to the LCC. You are a commodity and the US workers cost too much. They don't care about skill set or quality, just the salary / benefit costs.
I don't know where these rumors come from or the relevance, but being in the high demand organization of the company (Model e) I do not feel we can downsize. Model e is in full growth phase and the proof is all the new products we will be releasing in the near term. Plus Model e leadership has not made any hints about layoffs. I cannot say this is true with Ford Blue though, only that we all know vehicles that are associated to ICE are on the way out.
Last year it was both April and august. Bad news better broken up into smaller chunks.
@OP. I wish the rumor would be true. Not because I'd like to see so many of my coworkers kicked to the curb. I am just hoping people have a few more months to prepare themselves and find another job (another poster in this site thinks is going to be next week).
At this point, personally, I don't give a fu-k about the company or if they let me go. I have been saving money, posting my resume and organizing my finances. I am ready. I wish I had all the free time that some of the deadwoods have, so I could dedicate it for my training and job search.
