Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

No "all clear"

We were told directly by our VP there will be no "all clear" given. Don't get your hopes up, hope they enjoy low productivity and even lower moral. What a terrible plan/messaging.

And here I was hoping that somebody here would have said they were told it's over. I guess that was too much to ask for from this management.

Regarding why CST/NV in the US is done this week, business update meetings for next week were sent for entire audiences.

Leaders already discussing regroups with their managers.

There will be waves. IT will see much more impacts, they still have target numbers to hit in the next 6 months.

CST is done, at least in the US.

This is all so frustrating. We have been given ZERO details about these layoffs. They have been parroting the same talking points for MONTHS. Just that there's economic headwinds and that things need to change..

But no information about what's actually changing. The roadmap to the extraordinary page has not been updated. I dont even know what they're trying to do with it. Communication has been extremely poor and they wonder why we have no trust in leadership?

As employees, we should have a say or at least KNOW about the strategic direction the company is going in. How do we prioritize and do good work if there's so much confusion and uncertainty? I hate it here.

this can't be an accident. this feels like an intentional attempt to destroy the company

CRM is done. Other areas may not be.

This is the worst Medtronic layoff execution in the company’s history.
No numbers- no end dates. This is another example of the abysmal MDT executive leadership who can’t even execute layoffs, let alone executing the manufacturing of products that meet basic quality standards, launching new products when the product is still relevant, acquiring companies that add value…

That message is in sync with that of GM - the layoff may last weeks and months. That's just insane and terrible for employee morale.
