Perhaps we are slightly more highly compensated but that is likely due to performance. At least I won’t be on boarded when the ship goes down.

@wvh+1mdd4vTi you sound like such a joy to work with! Get a grip for real. Everyone is being impacted by these layoffs and its gross to act like it is just your demo (the crusty old white man afraid of change demo). Sorry no one wants to hang out with you or have a bud light with you :(. The rest of us will support each other without you.
@wvh+1mdd4vTi The colleagues I know who’ve been laid off are all women. Regardless, I am sure HR made sure the demographics of those laid off is well mixed to avoid any lawsuits.
Showed your hand pal
They are targeting well paid white males. They can cut the costs and increase their #1 most important metric, DEI, along the way. Sally Saba and Geoff both are happy. The cult is appeased and the books are cooked to make it look like Geoff isn't failing so bad.
Maybe Geoff and Sally should be fired and go drink a Bud Light together.
they offer garbage raises internally. external always get better packages
You would be surprised to see that new hired directors and sr directors are on top tier of scale, far above employees that have been here through our no increase year. It’s disgusting. It’s more of an age cut.
They targeted those over 50. Feels a bit like age discrimination. My salary was in no way close to a new hire that was brought in recently to my team. Bull hockey. Said and done. Good luck everyone.
VPs make the list and never lay themselves off.
Medtronic is extremely fat car heavy... getting rid of redundant or useless directors & vps sounds like a damn good place to start.
I agree. In my function they eliminated the Director who had more years of service and most likely was paid higher. Now we have a merged group with a Director who’s only been in the role 1 year, whose workload just doubled but I bet his pay hasn’t.
