Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Very poorly managed layoffs

It's as if they did not care that we are feeling anxiety and uncertainty of whether we will lose our jobs or not. Their goal was to make the news of the layoffs resonate as little as possible in the public, and whatever happens to us, the loyal and hard working employees, does not really matter to them. Otherwise, these layoffs could have been managed much more humanely, right?

There used to be HR that actually cared..anyone who cared was laid off during Carol and Caroline’s tenure…
Who is the new CHRO? This layoff is a mess…
Sorry people- it could be done much better than this

Unionize...really. I spent time, effort and sacrifice acquiring highly marketable skills. I don't think finding another job would be an issue and if it is I have managed my finances so risk is minimal if it takes a while.
I suggest people focus on this and not unionizing.

I don’t know that there can ever be a good way to do something like this. My biggest problem is that they don’t have the courtesy of communicating when it will end. IMO that translates to them not caring and also not having a concise plan at all, which is just more proof that the executive leadership of this organization is inept. To ask an organization to perform well with so many cost saving restrictions while also announcing impending mass layoffs with no end in site is absolutely insane to me.

When will the American worker realize that you're not important to them unless it increases shareholder value, there is no loyalty, they will use you and throw you away to get a 1 cent increase in share price. You guys can either unionize or accept that you are disposable toilet paper for the c-suite.
