I found three articles about Medtronic layoffs, but they're all just local news. It seems like nobody really cares about what's happening with us. Maybe folks are just used to hearing about layoffs, or maybe we're just not "cool" enough like tech for anyone to give a damn. How sad is that?

This article said the Minnesota department of employment and economic development has not yet received a WARN notice but that the DEED was trying to learn more.

We didn't give a "number" so the news can't write a popping headline. For all they know it could be less than 1% of staff.
The public, in general, do care about layoffs as they impact the lives of people who are laid off, their family, and possibly others because we are living in a global economy. The companies doing the layoffs do not want to be in the spotlight as it is bad for PR.
I think that may also be intentional by Medtronic. They seem to be significantly underplaying the layoffs to the general public
