Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Is this a fact?

Non sales in the US will be done this week. It’s the regulated countries outside of the US that have different laws and restrictions, those sites will drag out through the summer.

I'm going to feel much better if this is true, but is there a way to know for sure? Is this just somebody's wishful thinking or has this been confirmed?

That is correct. US RiF is expected to wrap by end of this week. Well this only means we might have survived wave 1. Only time will tell if another wave comes in during FY24.

In the US they can get rid of people as they wish, which means they'll probably get it done by end of the current fiscal year ending in April so they can start with clean finances, the rest of the world might have unions and worker protecting laws, so it will take them longer to bs their way around it, therefore Geoff stating "months". Regarding sales, I can absolutely see them draining the last drop of blood from sales people before getting rid of them and offloading their work on their remaining co-workers for identical pay. You know.... to "free cash flow".

I came to this site to ask the same question about layoffs in the EMEA and APAC regions. I work in a global function with teammates located in both of those regions and we were wondering after Geoff Martha's email about this taking months, when can people finally feel more at ease about when the mass layoff is over..

I don’t know about non-sales timeline, but I’ve heard many sales jobs will be axed in May. They’re letting them finish the fiscal year to get as much revenue as possible, and then bo-m.
