Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

This is going to be a long week

Updating one's resume should help reduce anxiety. However, is it really so?
I'm even more worried since I started looking for a new job because I thought I'd get it much easier, and I still haven't.

What roles? I have been looking but it doesn’t seem like anyone is hiring.

I’ve been interviewing for new jobs since March. I get a lot of interest from recruiters and interviews, but no offer yet. In some interviews you can just tell the job wouldn’t be a good fit. I’m sad because I do really enjoy my current job and colleagues, but I can’t stay with GM driving the company into the ground.

I know a lot of people are saying there are multiple jobs out there and it's fairly quick to get a new one. Yes, one might land interviews, but not all interviews lead to a new role. The competition is intense and there is no sugar coating around it. Low ball offers are also common. Start early, even if you are spared. Remember these numbers may only grow later into the year. This is not about spreading fear but realizing the gravity of the situation.

I decided to look a few weeks ago when I heard of some of the plans in my Org.

I already accepted another offer. When searching for a job, it all depends on what you do and your experience level. Some roles they can't fill fast enough, others aren't so on demand. It's not easy when your skills are not in demand. I've been there in the past.
