Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

This is a MESS!

BU update meeting scheduled in 3 hours. Not only was I just accidentally included in an email where my team was discussing how to divvy up my work going forward but I also just had someone delete all my recurring meetings with them off their calendar. (Since I was the organizer, I got the notification)
Seems like our managers are letting our teams know BEFORE the actual laid off employees??

I am sorry, OP. That was handled horribly and you deserve more respect than your manager showed you. It's obvious the info got leaked before they met with you and that is 100% your managers fault.

Move some of your important files to obscure places that won't be found, but don't delete. Give your manager a small F-U on the way out.

Sorry to hear about the notice. Hopefully you enjoy the time off with family and find something within your time. With that being said very unprofessional from your manager. I would bring it up in your "exit interview" and be lucky this person is no longer your manager

That’s awful; very sorry.

Despite’s Geoff’s assurances that they’ll take “great care to treat all impacted employees with the dignity and respect they deserve”, I’m not all surprised things like this are happening.

This is incredibly unprofessional of them. I would definitely mention it in your meeting and follow up with a quick note to your HR rep if they’re not in the meeting.
