Its coming this week, general announcements already made at some locations. It will all work out in the end, plenty of jobs going in the industry at the moment
I respect that tensions are high and there are different views on wfh vs in office but can we please stop filling these pages with posts on that? I don't mind if you want to debate those things, but it would be incredibly helpful if you start a different thread for those topics. It's making it really difficult to find the posts that are sharing active information on what's happening
Already heard one layoff today NeuroMod, Quality got impacted
Week of April 17th; not day of. MDT and most companies don't do layoffs on Mondays. Always thinking it would be 18th and 19th for actually meetings.
My VP just rescheduled our 1:1 from tomorrow (April 18) to next year in Q1 due to high priority meetings that got scheduled tomorrow. So…. I think RIF announcements will still be made this week.
My team is out of CA so they’re all just barely logging into their computers for the day…

I am trying to focus on work, but only successfully doing so for five minutes at a time. Then I am back on this site refreshing the page. I wonder how many thousands of hours Medtronic employees have spent on this site in the past month, hoping for any tidbit of information. Our (my) productivity is going to jump significantly once this blows over.
So many employees on this forum discussing the probability of layoffs shows me how much we all hate those executives. They're toying with us, while making millions. Feels like a scam

It's the week of the 17th. Since most people are working from home on Monday and Friday, the process will probably occur on Tuesday-Thursday.
it's barely 9am in minneapolis, geoff still hasn't gotten out of his jammies. give him a couple of hours while he finishes counting the 50k he's already made today, then he will start the firings.

They better make RIF announcements this week because I emotionally cannot continue each week wondering if I’ll have a job or not. There are so many house projects I’m putting on hold just in case I need that emergency money for being unemployed.
Enough already. Just lay me off!
