Hundreds of engineers and employees got layedoff at WesternDigital(WD/Sandisk) at Bangalore, India. The employees were told that they won't get severance unless they do voluntary resign(or call it layoff) since company wanted to hide mass layoff news from public. Not sure how legal this is.

Pretty normal in USA to sign away all your rights in exchange for a small severance

So BL align with US had RIF on 5/24? I used to think it's for US only.
