Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

I don't feel safe here

That's the biggest reason I'm looking for a new job, because it's really exhausting to constantly be stressing about losing my job here.
I don't know what those who have been here longer than me have to say, have there ever been less stable periods here than now?

When a holding company thinks they are an engineering company, and you report to someone you've never met, who has no idea what your job really is, but your metrics are wrong you're probably working at L3H

They had that useless stooge running ILS in Enfield who hired back a corrupt and incompetent previous employee as his right hand man to to his job for him.

Massive turnover in the department after that once this piece of garbage was hired, and they lost their capability in this sector, but the useless management doubled down to defend the stooge and the donkey he hired back.

Reading and responding to this as someone who was part of the most recent layoffs. Depending on the site and sector you are working with, I would say possibly run fast and far. I worked in IMS across their Waco/Plano/Greenville operations, and they do not value their employees wellbeing, nor do they manage programs well. They waste their time scrutinizing dedicated performing employees, only to drive them out of the company, leaving a vacuum of talent behind. I'm actually glad I got laid off, I will never work for a company that has a culture like this again.

Is that small remnant of Litton Systems Canada still going out in Enfield, Nova Scotia?

Canadian operations?! How you English say, I unclog my nose in your direction, sons of a window-dresser! So, you think you could out-clever us French folk with your silly knees-bent running about in dancing behavior! I wave my private parts at your aunties, you cheesy lot of second hand electric donkey bottom biters!

It is about being woke. The company adopted a policy that excluded a certain race and gender from advancement. This drove out much of the veteran employees that were familiar with the business. In their eagerness to be inclusive and diverse, the company hired people based solely on their race and gender. These new hires had no knowledge of the industry. With no one to train them, they did a poor job. The average tenure with the company is now less than 5 years. Poor workmanship, unethical leadership and bloated salaries have caused the company to spiral downward. The disease has progressed to the point of no return. L3HARRIS as a company has a bleak future. Long term job security is non existent.

It is not about woke, maybe just poor management.

The CEO of L3 Harris Chris Kubasik, just announced that the company will no longer bid on fixed price contracts. 70% of the contracts the company currently has are fixed price. Because L3 has become so bloated with identity hires that don't know what they're doing, the cost of Labor has increased significantly. The company is losing money on virtually every contract. Their company's wokeness, and they're unwillingness to abandon it, is putting them out of business. Layoffs as well as reducing the company's real estate footprint have already begun.

What's going on at the facility in Enfield NS near the Halifax airport, the sad remnant of Litton Systems Canada? Mostly deadwood left in that big empty building, just waiting for retirement or a severance package.

Continue looking for a new job. L3HARRIS is failing on every program. I left the "company" after 20 years of service. (ITT, Excelis, Harris and L3HARRIS). I can tell you from experience, the current company is a bad place to work and not going to get better. The company has gone woke, and now they're going broke. Just take a look at the stock price history. Frequent leadership changes and missed deadlines have driven investors and employees away. Get out of there and dump that stock.

I've only been here for 3 years but yes, I echo your concern and see the same thing. They laid off all the high-performers and higher paid employees and are left with "junior" employees trying to step up and figure out what they're doing. Morale is in the wastecan. At the same time, everyone has more to do as the work is spread amongst far fewer people. They're not performing on the majority of the programs and unless there's a total sea-change at the top, there will be more layoffs.
