Don't forget "Mining Oil and Gas" and "Advanced Ceramics" on your list of 'new' frontiers for 3M.

It's actually even worse for this one over prior adventures given the extreme regulatory hurdles and time it takes to get spec'ed in on Biopharma. 3M like to shy away from 510k notifications to FDA. Execs are really going to love being stapled to new dr-g approval applications and waiting the years at sample-level sales before production begins.
