Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Deafening aircraft a part of life

There’s a lot of F15s and Tornados doing mock sorties of the camp recently, they have a practice loop that goes right over my house. Some even with their damn afterburners on at full-tilt around 200 feet, wakes my kids up.
I know they are bored (Yemen went well didn’t it?) but they’ve got en entire bl00dy desert to practice over, why do this over the city? I’m sure I heard a sonic bo-m the other night also, guess I’ll have to get used to it. Yet another thing not mentioned before I came here.

They are required to do touch and goes to maintain qualifications. Flying time not so important and those cockpits don’t have AC.

I was "owned" in exchange for the $$$. I'm not ashamed to admit that. There I said it, now I'll get back to my drink and grilled ribeye at my seaside vacation house in the mediterranean. It will be more of the same tomorrow, lmao.

Pro tip: Just learn to say “yessir” and “inshallah”. Lose all integrity, do nice PowerPoints, lower your expectations to zilch. Convert to Islam take the 5 extra brakes and the extra month off.

Never do extra work, don’t try to lead anything, you won’t change a thing, Aramco is beyond repair. Provide advice but prepare to be constantly ignored. Learn to smile. Stuupid people are everywhere, just smile, you can’t change their views. Drink lots of coffee, bootleg and try to have some fun. Watch the pollution.
Set an exit date, put in in the diary and stick to it. Focus on the end game =$$$$.

@6mfe+1mSTxpYl Enjoy being bossed around by a Saudi half your age who loves the power trip he has over you, a mature white expat, a slave of Arabs and the green. I bet you’re like an obedient puppy in his presence then bi--h about him and all things Aramco behind closed doors. Am I wrong? Thought not.

You can ask for a transfer near the Jebel Heights area. It didn't bother us much, or maybe just gotten used to it. On the other hand, it doesn't make sense for a company to divulge all negatives if the purpose is to attract people. The onus is on the applicant to do prior research, such as going through this site. Equally guilty, like most of us, we put ourselves in that situation without doing due diligence, just blindly signed on the dotted line when we saw the $$$. The smarter ones made the most of it and kept their eye on the prize. The rest carried on miserably.

It’s just Aramco operates, the truth is on a need-to-know basis. Why would they be open and honest, they’d never attract any staff (apart from the unemployable and plastic passports).

If you sign up to the Aramco $$$ then you have waived all your rights. Aramco own you. Put up or shut up, or just leave!

Yup, living beside an active airbase is of course yet another thing not mentioned ahead of time. Probably drills with French / British / Americans. If you see a plane coming in to land at night, check out the pollution caught in the light beams.
