In my opinion, there is no future here. Are you preparing your resumes?

Pop that Johnny Paycheck song take this job and shove it into that 8track.
Which country is that?
And are the contractor staff doing on-call?
I did hear that NCR was reaching out to partner ATM companies last week. These are smaller regional companies that sell/service NCR atms aimed at smaller footprint financial banks (the minnows NCR left behind to focus on major accounts). A lot of former CE’s end up at these companies for better pay.
Could be a card in the NCR deck they could play if the need for resources increases after a split.
In our country contractors run all the calls in their areas, retail financial and networking, everything, so don’t say field nation won’t be running financial service calls, don’t assume your safe in any position at NCR
Already have my resume up to date and have been applying elsewhere. It’s been too quiet lately, the calm before the storm as they say. Yes I would look to move on and hopefully before the split eventually happens. Or whatever they’re planning to do
Generalized CE’s are going to become specialized later this year. So far have not seen any additional hiring in Generalist areas around me to account for the teams being split. I then would expect the service areas to grow (combine split CE’s from nearby territories) to make up the difference plus a combination of Field Nation contractors to assist the retail side. Due to security concerns the Financial side will never have random contractors running service calls.
What about generalized CEs? I know we won't be that for long but wondering how "safe" our jobs are
If you have been with NCR long enough to have a pendulum, you have been with the them a long long time and should have a boat load of money to live off. People hired 2o years ago have no pension, and over the years they have taken away every year until now their is very little left as incentives, and the pay is not great and the future is bleak, I hope people see what is going on, best thing that happen to me was being terminated, I was mad, but will never work again, know your rights
The NCR was “sold off” to a federally backed pension corp. NCR still has to make funding payments every year to meet funding levels. So your money is somewhat safe, but not at 100% of what you could get. That’s why I took mine as lump sum spring of 2019. I just did not trust the bas—rd’s (NCR) to keep it whole.
As a ex NCR employee who walked away to a better job, better pay, and frankly a better life My one piece of advice is, get out now. You don't want to be competing with your other ex coworkers applying for the same job while your all unemployed.
Go look at GM and what happened to their pension back it 2008. I wouldn’t doubt NCR would pull the same stuff. Ain’t no guarantee even if there is a law.
Diebold just filed for Chapter 11, share trading halted. Wonder how that will play with NCR. There are going to be a ton of Financial customers looking to drop Diebold from their future plans. Don’t care how Diebold spins this news. No banks are going to trust them going forward. If NCR spinco positions itself well, they are going to be the only big name left.
Wow only Union, State or Federal Government employment offer pensions. You must be an old timer.
You're right. I'm just going to sit back and watch the show because I know by law no matter what happens to NCR by law they're still going to be sending me a pension check every month for life or paying me a lump sum when I leave. What ? You didn't qualify for the pension? You might as well leave now and get a job with a pension while you're still young.
