The controversial store manager bonus structure which some claim is detrimental to the overall operation and success of stores (because some store managers have run their stores into the ground to maintain a bonus payout) is allegedly going to be eliminated. Store managers will allegedly qualify for merit increases but not a bonus for payroll metrics and other fiscal measures.

Yea. That’s a great goal. Aspire to be a store manager of a failing company. Sign me up.
Rather than complain- maybe you should all aspire to be a store manager?
Can’t be that hard.
Support staff is doing the job of at least three people because of the staffing. How about giving us more than a 2% raise?
How about the poor associates making 12-16 dollars an hour and getting their hours cut that’s the sad part.
So it is always true that Beauty fades but Stupidity is forever at Belk!
I’ve always said something is wrong when an STM is making $47,000 and a store manager is making $125,000, and the jobs are almost identical, but the store manager is asking help from the STM’s. the pay gap is too large and always has been, either bring the STM’s up to a fair amount, or get rid of these overpaid, entitled store managers, they are hurting the company! And let’s not get started on the $200,000 RVP’S who don’t do anything of importance.
If this is true it will help belk in the long run. Lots of current managers will quit. I hope belk has a plan to fill those positions.
Basically store managers are getting a $10,000-$30,000 lump sum bonus for taking hours away and keeping the store understaffed.
