Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Wee Pete the Tireman's greatest hits:

Wee Pete (aka the Tireman) seems to have turned into the Fireman (unless we're talking about his bobblehead cronies they call him the Hireman).

Funnels plenty of money to Kearney (his son) - almost like he's shuffling campaign contributions around.

He seems to have great disdain for sourcing - I'm sure sourcing folks out there have some stories to share.

Post your favorite Tireman quotes or initiatives - greatest hits in less than 2 years at Mother Mining...

“DO(n’t) fear the reaper” - Blue Oyster Cult

“Pride and Joy (or lack there of)” -Stevie Ray Vaughan

“(Un)fortunate son” -CCR

what did I miss?

“Even if his son isn’t on any 3M projects, this arrangement is clearly beneficial to Kearney’s bottom line and probably is a boost to junior’s annual bonus.”

That would be top line benefit, wouldn’t it? Not bottom line. If this person is in finance then this explains our numbers lol

Sourcing friend I trust shared Kearney encouraged telling lowest bidding suppliers to drop their bids lower to meet comp. Team Tireman for another WIN! We don’t have MTEs to run the quals anyway

Take It On The Road (with an army of Kearney consultants) - REO Speedwagon

I Don't Wanna Know (about Kearney consulting costs) - another REO Speedwagon hit

Eat It (we don't want to hear about how bad 3M treated you after getting just short of your 92 number) - Weird Al

De Ja Vu (these layoffs look like the last dozen under Mikey) - Dionne Warwick

King of Wishful Thinking (about 3M's stock price) - Go West with background vocals from Mikey, Monish, Tireman, and an uncredited (name scrubber) Vale

I doubt Wee Pete's son is actually working on 3M business. Even tireman knows that could be considered conflict of interest so why would he want to blow his 4.2 million dollar gig.

And he likely reported his connection to 3Ms bumbling legal director who told him it was OK.

The big problem is tireman doesn't believe in anyone internally so he's paid probably 100 million for Kearney.

Pete and Wee Pete go to 3M. Pete is fired, who remains?

Posting his name will likely get this post deleted, but he is based out of Kearney’s DC office and he graduated from Georgetown.

Wee Pete couldn’t respond to this because he was short on time.

I sure liked the Peter Gibbons in Office Space a lot better than this dude. He's way more of a Lumbergh... ;)

Is the fact that Tireman’s son works for Kearney an ethics violation? Seems like a scheme to siphon off more money from 3M to the Gibbons family. Even if his son isn’t on any 3M projects, this arrangement is clearly beneficial to Kearney’s bottom line and probably is a boost to junior’s annual bonus.

Tire man has given targets to each groups under him about how much money they should save by firing people. In my group mostly managers and long time 3Mers got fired. They just looked at the paycheck not performance.
