Get rid of Sr staff and see. Doesn't take much time for this company to go down. Lol. Staff and Sr Staff are the most important groups. There is a fat in qcom but that has nothing to do with titles. I know PEs, Sr directors and VPs who still checks waveforms and code. Qcom is still surviving because of hard working like us. All we need at this point is some new market.
I guess our division (not Eng) is a rare one. 2 VPs, 2 Directors, 1 Sr Manager and 3 managers voluntarily left in this round (5/17), and none of regular staff were affected thankfully. Now we are almost too slim and don't have anyone who direct us...
Company cuts muscle versus fat, amazing how much fat is in the organization and the amount of people who have been let go who have gone on to do better things.
Agree the real problem is at the top and the inflated compensation top execs get. Hoc Tan would have cleaned house at the top and not lost Apple business (see Broadcom signs long-term deal with Apple).
Only thing the current execs have done is fend off Jana partners and Hoc Tan to their benefit not to the employees or investors benefit. I would say the board is just as much to blame as they have enabled this behavior.
fatties are gone, remaining execs are good ones and doing heavy lifting
Issue is not at senior staff principal or sr director.
These insiders at the top have between x100 to x2000 more RSU than the senior levels you mention :

CA, AR, JT,... impressive.
There are way too many VPs , Sr. Directors and Directors
The problem is CA tells these guys to get rid of others instead of getting rid of these fatties. So it won't help.
