Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Talented employees are somewhere else

The hardest thing to admit to oneself is that being stuck here is the result of not having enough talent and skills to get a better job. What is the reputation of Xerox employees on the job market? - It's not a good one.
Complaining is fine, but I'm afraid that people spend more energy in complaining than in upgrading their eroded skillset in order to be more marketable.

Xerox. Agree to do one job and 3 more free. What a concept. Do everything, everywhere, and maintain those numbers too. Come time for a raise. They say…”we’re happy with where your at. “. Question them about more money…and they say. “ were not just going to keep paying you more and more for working here. “

My L o r d….. the writing is engraved in the walls here. Like Braille !!!

Even the blind know when to cut their losses, and steer clear of this unmitigated disaster.

While I agree that the talent left at Xerox is mostly (but not all) bottom of the barrel, for some reason the Xerox name and brand can still get you a job. I have done well and left before pandemic (thank god). You can still leave at any time, push your skill set and how you do 2-3 jobs at the price of barely one lol

Any…. ANY Reason to leave xerox is a good one and doesn’t need to be justified here. Ever … period.

I’m in my 40s and just got a promotion making good money. I’m learning valuable skills now so you must no longer be with the company if your not seeing people being promoted and coming back to work for Xerox as the job market isn’t all that great.

Maybe not with younger folks but if you're interviewing with anyone over 40-45, then Xerox actually does still mean something. The problem with Xerox is they're great with training, sales, technicians, analysts, billing, project management, site coordinators (probably others) but they never recognize what they have until they miss the boat. I absoultely got the job I have now for way more than what I made at Xerox because both HR and the President of the company were still impressed by the brand. There is a big focus on learning and development out there and I printed my whole Learning at Xerox transcript before I left. If you can make it at Xerox, you are a good corporate citizen. You will find work. Just don't leave your job before finding a new one.
