Thread regarding 3M layoffs

borrowed

The cuts in MTE tell me three things.

Tireman has no stinking idea how manufacturing works. His last gig there was probably 1990s at ICI.
the company is going to be broken up into many pieces and wants to be so bare bones that someone might acquire a piece of it on the cheap (and then have to rehire people to actually make it work).
In 12 months, all he-l will break loose when production can't keep up with even modest demand because too many people got cut. Tireman will rage at the production people for being lazy and inefficient and will roll out his mantra- the only fixed cost is depreciation.
What a cluster F!

So true, the guy left ICI around 2008. He was probably laid off and then found work at places like Starbucks and tirehub.

He is obviously a good BSer. His townhalls are actually interesting if nothing other than he seems to let off some steam when asked questions he doesn't like.

Of course, following Hammes, anyone would look good at first.
