From continuity planning, I am reading layoffs will be quarterly/semi-annually but as a cover to remove individuals who either costs above the median of their pay band or individuals who have received a developing on their review. PIPS will be more about getting the person out than actually improving the talent.

None of this is true. It's simply weird you get off on post rubbish on an anonymous message board
Working 50 hours will be the new norm. With the recession coming, companies like Medtronic know that people will be desperate and willing to work longer hours.
