(3) Remove all "personal" data from your work computer
That is really bad advice. Don't remove anything from your work computer. Don't print anything out unless as normal part of job.
Clearly you should not have 'any' personal data on your work computer. And clearly when people leave they audit recent outgoing emails and also recent print log.
So if you want your severance, and a clean reference, then don't do anything stupid.
Be prepared for a last minute conference call where you call in and verify your employee id. It does not matter if you are not working or on vacation. I know some people who were at doctor's appointments, one person was in Fiji. News travels quickly. Be prepared that they will shut down access to your work computer about 5 minutes after the call.
Just don’t answer the phone. They can’t find you, they can’t fire you.
Another trick: if you think your head is on the chopping block, go on stress leave now. They can’t fire people on medicine leave.
There’s a lot loopholes, use them.
Protect Yourself:

(2) Do not keep ** irreplaceable ** personal belongings in your office or workspace

Last minute call so no need to prepare for anything.
