VP D&I

How long before the VP D&I position is eliminated and those responsibilities are simply incorporated into the HR department?

The funniest part is that the VP D&I is the most biased person ever. The members of her team have never been diverse and she definitely hires those within her same race.

The funniest part is how they edited her statement "WE ARE WOKE!" from her introductory address during Vicki's town hall. Employees all over the company have been playing it back because they couldn't believe they did that.

DIB is a waste of money. I have yet to see discrimination at Oxy based on gender and color the years I have been here. All DIB does it push people apart whether it be color, gender, or se-ual preferences. I am an older employee and I could care less about what people’s preferences are, but when it is shoved in our faces it causes more issues than it solves. If an employee does not know how to act by now they never will. I have my beliefs and nothing a company can do will change them, so easiest thing to do is tune it all out. If they want to replace me with someone from one of these groups then just do it. I am here to work and not push social causes.

Titles mean nothing related to compensation.

Selling carbon credits from DAC as a business is a waste of time and money. The folks who will make money off of carbon are the ones putting equipment on smokestacks to capture the carbon at the source.

I’m the past you were right, but now we are selling carbon credits and will get paid for carbon sequestration. Oxy actually has a “product” to sell, and Oxy does need to be visible now.

There is no point being visible unless you market gasoline or chemicals to the public.

Before the merger , the only time I was ever aware of Oxy was when I looked at the ridiculously large corporate logo at the ballpark. Post merger, it seems like Oxy aspires to become Anadarko after all. APC was always visible in Houston and Denver (United Way, social media, local news...). Diversity and inclusion were part of our core values and didn't require a special VP.
Focus on shareholder value, your peers are ki-ling you.

A significant amount of my dividend check that I counted on was gone not to mention some of my equity. But look at it this way it could have been much much worse if oil prices had not come back.

Buying Anadarko was a waste of money. How much shareholder value was destroyed?

But to pay someone a VP salary just for show is a waste of money.

This is all just for show not only with Oxy, but for many companies. It does not make a difference because they could not hire enough to keep the company running. It really is that simple.

Dylan is spot on! The company needs to promote people into executive management based upon the group that they can best represent. That would make me feel better.

Are you joking? They actually have a VP to cover this. How insulting to those who are producing the oil and gas.

Once Oxy is more welcoming to all the LGBTQIA+ employees and have adequate representation of all people that identify with this group in executive management it can be rolled into HR.
