Heard through the grapevine that there is AT LEAST another 2 more weeks of layoffs

It appears to be by division. Some areas are already done; others have not done it yet.
layoffs started last week, so far 800 have been cut
Typically every group is asked to cut budget by certain amount - meaning laying off people of their management choice to satisfy the numbers. In mass layoffs it doesn't matter if group brings money to the firm or spends them, everyone is affected.
Does every team get a quota or is the cut performance based? Which sites/divisions have been hit so far and how deep was the cut? Last week, lots of issues with the work messaging app and permission issues. Did that happen to teams that were affected days prior to the cut? Feels like a tsunami is coming soon. Wonder if it is next week.
started by me - 5 people we know - shame.
Poor leadership/management has created a toxic culture and environment here. Sad.
It appears to be in waves by divisions...if you haven't seen it, it likely hasn't come your way yet.
Yes, they've started. Very sad. Dismantling of a great brand/company. I'll state the obvious, regardless of where one works, just remember, everyone is just a number and replaceable. You can count on your family and that old adage, "if you need a friend, get a job". Companies will shower you with the concept that you are "the most important thing of driving company success". That is just normal corporate speak. I personally think that massive layoffs are a byproduct of poor leadership, and the cuts should start at the top of the C suite.
How do you guys check numbers in directory ?
Maybe because we see the numbers in the directory and have extensive networks to know who's affected and the extent of it. HR can handle such layoff in a couple of days like in the previous years. As for now people have been let go only sporadically. My bet would be on the next week or beyond.
of course layoffs have started, there are just not enough HR to handle 3000 people all on one day.
maybe your department is not impacted, maybe next week or so HR will come to your department.
I don't understand why people keep saying it's fake news and it's not started.
So many departments have already been impacted.
Yeah not started. Soon.
Layoffs have not really started yet. Maybe some people were let go early here and there.
