have any directors and above gotten the boot ? in years past, it was usually the grunts and the plebes in the morning followed by the directors in the afternoon
Let's ignore for a sec why they did it, but the way how they did it was just bad. Been here through few layoffs, and each and every one is worse than previous. Like it's competition between CEO who will do it worse, cause more chaos and destruction.
My manager is also affected. He's probably the best manager I've ever had. Why they chose to lay him off I will never understand.
Got a call from my director at 8 to let me know I was impacted. My manager was impacted too. The email followed around 9:20 a.m. Tomorrow will be the last working day.
Got the email at 9.20 CST. Had a call with my manager @ 9.30 about the separation steps. We are a team of 5 and 2 are leaving (DWF and KRK).
So much knowledge was lost today. I am floored at who was let go. I don’t know what lies ahead. It will be rough to recover from this.
If you did get an email can you kindly let the rest of us still waiting what time you got your email at and what time zone ?
I was let go. Seems it was not performance based.
A lot of brain trust has been lost today all over the world. How Sabre comes back from this is unknown.

So should managers know if team members are safe at this point? This whole "if you don't get an email you're safe" system is horrendous. How are people expected to work at this time when they have no idea whether or not they still have a job??

1 impacted in our team email was sent at 9:20 am .. rest all had meeting with manager at 9:20 to confirm our jobs .

I don’t think K.E. will be a well liked CEO… after this awful start he will be pretty much hated by most if not all!!

Yes, the 9 AM CST notification was bull…. People felt okay up until past 9:30. Just another inexcusable snafu for Ekert.
They’ve gutted many teams…. We lost manager, lead and all sr. Devs, and 2 of our 3 QEs. It’s a similar situation across other Dev teams, from what I hear.
Why are they not emailing everyone at the same time?. Seems to be coming in tiers what the f kinda bs is that.
Are people who've been riffed being asked to leave immediately or are they being asked to work for a while to transition stuff?
