Thread regarding 3M layoffs

We don’t really know what happened

This post will likely get a lot of troll commentary that I won’t read. While I agree this company and culture are a disaster, I don’t think it’s fair to drag Vale’s name through the mud when we don’t know what actually happened. Seems like that’s the internet culture: destroy people for something they just speculate and know nothing about. I don’t know Vale, never met him, but I don’t think it’s fair to jump on the bashing bandwagon that internet trolls love to start. I hope he and his family are well, hopefully don’t read any of these comments, and can move forward from this unfortunate event. I also hope the same for anyone else that may or may not be involved in the situation.

He was caught with his pants down and a wet thingy hanging out with his nose stuffed with white powder holding a bundle of cash which he cannot account for. Plus he didn’t complete his compliance courses on time.
Well in all seriousness…what ever he did was bad and was not worth ignoring. Good riddance.

I agree we don’t really know what happened yet. But hard not to speculate as it seems like it had to have been pretty bad whatever it was.

Whatever it is it better be good. Pr---------n and dr-gs should be decriminalized, and are hardly illegal in other countries, im sure most of these dirtball execs are getting their knobs polished on overseas trips. Good riddens to naughty mv tho!

A terrible “leader”, extremely arrogant, and todays news only further cements Karma is real. He ruined many lives during his reign at 3M. The news today was refreshing for those who no longer work for 3M and those still with the company. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who liked the man or felt his leadership and direction was good for 3M!

3m-ous,

Never met the gal but did just Google her corporate bio. I could see where an immoral and corrupted exec would want a fling. Why would she oblige? Unless she's overpromoted and needed to satisfy her career desires, she's sullied herself if that's what she did. Gross!

Ethics my ar-e, if higher ups could have swept this under the lake they would have done so already.

This is obviously so big and bad that they decided to get in front of the bad news that is surely coming out soon.

Remember that for every one creep outed in public, there are multiple sharks that continue to exist and carry on with their abominable behavior.

Hard for the bones to stay buried when you sc--w over others, step on people, and then cut as many long tenured people close to retirement as this group has, especially other execurives and VP's. Behave like Caligula, flaunt it to the point of calling names and stuff, this sh---y attitude is going to leak. Fact of the matter is attitude reflects leadership. God dang it this board of directors needs to act soon. Don't care if they are Roman yes Men and Women, they have a fiduciary responsibility to protect the company and shareholders ! Mike Roman just promoted Vale three weeks ago, and that says all you need to know about trusting the process, and Roman's judgement of character. This firing and conduct reflects poorly on all of 3M even if it was a failure of indecent conduct by a leader that until recently was highly trusted by 3M's top leadership.

Drag him through the mud like he contributed dragging the stock price through the mud, dragged the 3M legacy through the mud, and dragged all 3Mers through the mud wondering if some of us would have jobs. So f him and anyone that stands up for him. I suppose you clap at town halls too?

“ If you read more about this from today, you will see that he admitted to this so, it’s NOT internet garbage.”

Is there a link to this information inferred in this comment?

Yeah - let’s treat him with as much respect and consideration as the company did the other 8,500 people. Not like they didn’t have families.

Well, I worked at that God awful company for 32 years. They “retired” me with 3,000 other people 2.5 years ago. Mike Vale is VERY arrogant. I watched him at many presentations. This doesn’t surprise me. If you read more about this from today, you will see that he admitted to this so, it’s NOT internet garbage. He’s one of the TOP DOGS and felt he was ENTITLED to acting like he did. If I was married to him, I would be divorcing him. It’s embarrassing!!! You play with fire, you will get burned!!! It doesn’t matter if you are at the top or the bottom—it will catch up with you.
