Projected and realized cost saving benefits are degraded, and often don't meet plan:
- Severance costs
- Contractors hired
- Retained staff demand promotions
- Turnover increases
- Customer loss
- Staff rehired at higher rate as economy improves
- Growth rate permanently impeded
As the company growth plan failed multiple years, why should we as employees and shareholders have any confidence in a plan that includes layoff's to return to profitability and growth?
Layoff's are the last desperate option of those that have no other ideas.....The last resort, the desperate act...and the data shows it does not work.
