If you have worked at Sabre for a decade or more you have probably survived several pay offs. I lost count after 5 or so layoffs. So the question is when is the next one if they do not achieve cash flow positive end of next year as it will probably be the case.

As others above already mentioned, Sabre consistently has lay-offs. For them it is the lay of the land. Sometimes merit has a little to do with it, sometimes it is because they need to save money. This horrible massacre unfolding in front of us is DEFINITELY not merit based, even though I am sure that was considered also when deciding. Higher salaries, read- long termed loyal Sabre employees, will be the hardest hit. "Was" with Sabre for many years and I can tell you that this is the absolute worst and most scariest layoff they have ever done.
Layoffs will never stop especially with Sabre. Layoffs is synonymous with the Sabre way. It is just who they are.
Big ones are every 3 years. Because there have been new leaders every 3 years. Because it takes 3 years to make changes happen. And those leaders fail every 3 years. But the pandemic changed everything.
There are VPs and Directors that brown nosed there way up. Hope they all get laid off. It doesn’t set a good example. Us non-leaders know who is good and who is not.
A way of life at Sabre for years, ramp up for next big thing then layoff. There is a core group that has rode it out for years but this mess feels a lot different. Good luck all…
