Thread regarding Alteryx layoffs

Just read on Glassdoor: HR is doing some shady things to refrain from having to pay by telling unemployment services people were not "laid off"

Uh -- Yeah, just read this on Glassdoor. Are people seriously getting screwed out of unemployment?

Entire post from GD:

I was considered a "veteran" employee having been there more than 3+ years as the place is a continuous revolving door. Hiring inadequate leaders to lead in fields they have no background in, even though they "think" they do. Leadership does not care about employees and to them you are just a number, continuing to devalue the work you've put into the company. There are toxic people, especially in Marketing, that leadership is fully aware of, yet they have chosen to completely ignore all complaints. This has created a work environment for some amazing people that is toxic and there is no trust. Those valuable employees that are still there are only still working there because right now it's a "pay check" and/or "until they find something better" -- how unfortunate. Don't you want people to work for you that are excited/love the work they do? For a place that I once loved to work at to become this sad shell of a company is devastating. Also, if you were recently laid off in 2023 due to the recent restructuring and workforce reductions, good luck trying to get your unemployment benefits. HR is doing some shady things to refrain from having to pay by telling unemployment services people were not "laid off" but instead "resigned" or "inadequate performance". Does that reflect a company that says they value integrity?

I have always been intrigued by how short the tenure of AYX employees is. Anyone who has been at the company for 2 years or longer is considered a grizzled veteran employee.

Never seen that before at any company I’ve worked at.

Why is the average tenure of AYX employees so short?

None of this is a surprise. This is why the average tenure of an AYX employee is 12-18 months, sadly.

I agree, would have to see proof that the company was pulling this type of thing.

The fact remains that many people are very unhappy and are looking and interviewing outside the company.

This is one of those things where I'd have to see proof before I believe it to be true. Would be truly id--tic for a publicly traded company to behalf that way... Say what you want about handling the layoff as well as they could have, but they're not going to do illegal things.

Does anyone actually have first-hand knowledge that they are trying to sc--w people out of unemployment? Wow, just wow.

The first Glassdoor reviews are now starting to appear there, post layoff.

Expect a wave of negative reviews as former employees tell it like it is and how they were (mis)treated.

The company executive team remains smug while they take in massive pay and stock increases. It’s all a game as most of them will move on in the next 12-24 months after they have extracted what they can from the company. Sad.

Employees lose.
Customers lose.
